Your bedroom is more than a place where you sleep. It's where you begin and end your day. Where you rest and rejuvenate. A space where you can find peace and quiet before the hustle of the day starts. Sounds luxurious, right? If your bedroom doesn’t give you these comforting vibes, it’s time to stop ignoring it and focus on making it a space that nurtures you.

Luckily, bedrooms don't usually require renovations to make big changes. Transform your bedroom with these simple and stylish ideas that can be completed in as little as just a few hours.

1.) Declutter

The simplest way to give your bedroom a refresh is to purge items that don’t serve a purpose. We’re all guilty of having that piece of furniture that collects random clothes. I’m talking about you side chair sitting in the corner looking rather overloaded. Look at the areas in your bedroom that collect the most clutter and find solutions to keep them tidy. Consider closet organizers, fabric storage bins or nesting baskets to keep miscellaneous items from piling up.

2.) Paint

Paint one wall or paint them all. Or even your ceiling! You can overhaul a room with paint rather quickly for an affordable cost. It will add dimension and contrast to your room and bonus…. It can be easily changed when you get tired of the color.

3.) New Bedding

Nothing looks and feels fresher than new bedding. It’s especially powerful because the bed is a natural focal point. Include accent pillows with some big personality which will update the room instantly adding volume, texture, and color. For a luxurious touch, add a fuzzy throw.

4.) Area Rug

Not only does a rug provide a soft place to step each morning and night, it adds a feeling of warmth and coziness to the room. Rugs also anchor the space and add to the focal point in your bedroom.

5.) Update Your Headboard

Swap out or get a headboard for you bed. With a variety of options in height, pattern, texture, and color; a headboard can add high impact.

6.) Curtains

If your room is feeling devoid of pattern or color, look to your window treatments. They occupy prime real estate on your wall so even if privacy isn’t an issue - curtain panels will enhance the design of any space. They not only frame the windows and accentuate the height of a room; they also add warmth and style.

7.) Nightstands

Give your nightstand a little love. Clear out the unnecessary clutter (I mean that pile of old receipts and three random cups) and add a few pretty accessories that make your bedroom feel more like a retreat and less like a dumping ground.

8.) Update the lighting

Lighting is a key element when creating an inviting and comforting bedroom.  One of the best ways to modernize a bedroom is by looking up at the “fifth wall”. Replace your old “boob” light with a new fan or beautiful light fixture.

You can also focus on bedside lamps for an impactful change. Who doesn’t like to read in bed? It can be as simple as switching out your lamp shades.

9.) Pattern

Vibrant colors and patterns energize an otherwise neutral space. Whether you gravitate toward stripes, bold florals, or classic designs; pattern will liven up a space and make a statement. This can be done with bedding, draperies, accents or even wallpaper. Lucky for us in this day and age, peel and stick wallpaper is easily accessible, requires very little prep and peels right off if you ever get sick of it.

10.) Greenery

Houseplants are an inexpensive way to add pops of color only mother nature can make. Not only are they natural purifiers, freshening the air & eliminating toxins; they also reduce stress levels & can boost your mood.
